The site managers of Taylor Wimpey’s Oakhampton development of property for sale in Hilton, and the Dovedale Park development of new homes in Swadlincote, have secured prestigious NHBC awards.

Taylor Wimpey has cause to celebrate after the site managers of its new homes developments of houses for sale in Derbyshire scooped prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Awards from the National House-Building Council (NHBC).

Darren Clark, of the Oakhampton development of new homes in Hilton, and Adam Harrison, of the Dovedale Park development of property for sale in Swadlincote, are among 65 Taylor Wimpey site managers around the UK to receive the honour in recognition of their dedication to maintaining exceptional standards in housebuilding.

Presented following a stringent judging process involving a number of NHBC inspections throughout the year, the Quality Awards also provide homebuyers with the assurance that the winning developments deliver top-quality homes and excellent customer care.

Ian Smith, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, says: “Our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality, service and customer care has ensured that we continue to be an NHBC award-winning housebuilder year after year. Darren’s and Adam’s awards are thoroughly deserved and we’ll all be supporting them as they progress through to the regional heats of the Pride in the Job awards, and hopefully the grand final.”

The only awards scheme that recognises the significant contribution of site managers in new home construction, Pride in the Job has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades.

Around 400 Quality Award winners are whittled down from more than 13,000 entrants ahead of regional stage of the competition, which takes place in the autumn, and the Supreme Awards gala final in January 2012, the NHBC’s 75th anniversary year.

Buyers have also been quick to join the judges in recognising the quality of the homes offered at Oakhampton – to the point where all of the properties at the fast-selling development have been snapped up.

At Dovedale Park, a selection of high-quality family-size properties is currently available, with prices starting at just £129,995 for three-bedroom homes and £158,950 for four-bedroom designs.

Dovedale Park is located in Woodville, a busy village with a convenient range of local shops, a post office, schools and a selection of restaurants.

The village will benefit from new bus services and cycleway routes, while a new link road to the south will serve the development along with traffic-free pedestrian networks.

Swadlincote town centre is just under two miles away and the town boasts a wealth of shops, restaurants, bars, parks and leisure facilities including Swadlincote Ski and Snowboard Centre and Sharpe's Pottery Centre, a visitor attraction based on the town's pottery heritage.

Swadlincote is within easy reach of schools for children of all ages, while commuters will appreciate that the M42, M6 and M1 are close by and direct rail services operate from Burton upon Trent railway station to Birmingham and Nottingham.

Great family days out within easy reach include Conkers Discovery Centre, less than two miles from the development, while the beautiful National Trust Calke Abbey and its National Nature Reserve are only six miles away. Further afield, the delights of the Peak District are within 30 miles.
