Taylor Wimpey is hosting an exclusive event giving would-be homeowners the chance to find out more about the FirstBuy initiative at its Leggatts Green development of apartments for sale in Watford.

First-time buyers looking to step on the property ladder can find the answers to all of their questions at Taylor Wimpey’s FirstBuy Weekend, a special event being hosted at the leading housebuilder’s Leggatts Green development of new homes for sale in Watford.

A team of financial advisors and property professionals will be on hand at the Sales Information Centre throughout the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September to go through the homebuying process, step-by-step with prospective purchasers in search of new build apartments in Watford.

And not only will they be able to view detailed plans for the selection of contemporary one and two-bedroom flats for sale in Watford from just £155,000 at Leggatts Green, but they can also discover more about the fantastic Government-backed FirstBuy initiative.

Tony Woodman, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Our FirstBuy Weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September is the perfect opportunity for would-be homeowners in search of new build homes in Watford to pick the brains of those in the know for all the answers to questions such as how to secure the best mortgage deal and how to make finances stretch further.

“Along with providing access to independent financial and legal advice, we will explain to first-time buyers – particularly those who think they can’t afford to buy a home – how easy owning a property at our Leggatts Green development of apartments to buy in Watford could be thanks to FirstBuy.”

What’s more, all first-time buyers who reserve their choice of one-bedroom Watford flats at Leggatts Green over the FirstBuy weekend will receive a furniture pack, flooring throughout, an upgraded shower to the en-suite bathroom and integrated appliances included in the great-value price.

Under FirstBuy, available with selected one-bedroom apartments at the development, qualifying purchasers require only a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage, with Taylor Wimpey and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) providing a 20% loan which is repayable at the end of the 25-year mortgage or when the property is sold.

For example, the stylish one-bedroom Plot 89 apartment at Leggatts Green, priced £155,000, is available for just £124,000 through FirstBuy – that’s a mortgage of only £116,250 and a deposit of just £7,750. To qualify for the scheme, first-time buyers must have a household income of less that £60,000.

The contemporary design of the Plot 89 apartment combines the very best of space and comfort, with an airy open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a well-proportioned bedroom and a generously sized bathroom. The property also benefits from an attractive Juliet balcony to the living area, while outside there is allocated parking.

Home-hunters will soon be offered even more choice at Leggatts Green when the brand new second phase of properties is unveiled, including stylish one, two and three-bedroom apartments plus spacious three and four-bedroom houses.

Leggatts Green is conveniently located just a short walk from two supermarkets, while only two miles away is Watford town centre, which offers superb shopping as well as a host of bars, clubs and restaurants. The Harlequin shopping centre boasts 130 stores including John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.

For relaxation, one of the country’s top hotels, The Grove, offers luxury facilities including a spa and tennis courts as well as a prestigious golf course, while Cassiobury Park is perfect for scenic walks, cycling and picnics, with 190 acres of green space, children’s attractions and a wide variety of sports facilities.

Parents will appreciate that there are many schools within close proximity, providing education for children of all ages.

And for commuters, Watford Junction railway station is just under two miles away and offers regular services to London Euston in about 30 minutes, while its West Coast route provides direct trains to Manchester and Glasgow. Also within a one-mile radius are Junction 5 of the M1 and Junction 19 (westbound) of the M25, while Junction 20 (eastbound) is only a two-mile drive.

FirstBuy Weekend at Leggatts Green is taking place from 10am to 5.30pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September, at the Sales Information Centre located off North Western Avenue, Watford, WD25 0AQ. The development is also open during the same hours, Thursday to Sunday, and from 10am to 2pm on Mondays.
