While filming Dumb and Dumber, Jim Carrey is reported to have requested room 217 but left at 11pm that night to stay in a nearby Holiday Inn with no explanation.

Stephen King's room is now one of the hotel's Superior Rooms and features all of his books and DVDs. The hotel offers 90 minute tours of the hotel, with talks about the history and hauntings and among the staff are a paranormal investigator and a medium that present readings and take guests ghost hunting.
