Ben’s living it up at The Rock in Bury

Ben Corlett is living it up at The Rock in Bury. Not only has he recently moved into a new luxury apartment, he is now £1,000 better off thanks to Miller Homes’ ‘Recommend a Friend’ Scheme.

Ben has purchased a 2 bedroom apartment in Miller Homes @ The Rock, in the new town centre development that includes over sixty retail stores, along with leisure facilities. When Ben moved in he was so bowled over by the quality of his apartment, and the lifestyle location, he recommended the development to his friend, who has now also bought an apartment. Ben has decided to share his £1,000 windfall with his friend.

Ben, who works for Laing O’Rourke, the company responsible for the construction of The Rock, bought his apartment using Miller Homes’ MiWay scheme. This enables eligible buyers to purchase a new home without having to pay the full purchase price up front; instead paying 85% now and 15% later. Ben says: “If it wasn’t for the MiWay scheme I couldn’t have afforded to buy a brand new apartment. I’m fortunate that I’m in full time employment straight from university but thought I would need to save around £20,000 for a deposit.”

Ben continues: “I had planned to buy my own place in 2013, to give me time to save the deposit, but I have managed to do it now and it’s all thanks to MiWay. For less than £5,000 deposit I have my own brand new home. My monthly mortgage amount is nearly £300 less than I was paying in rent for my old apartment. It’s just a dream. Anyone who thinks they can’t afford to buy new needs to visit a Miller Homes development and see what’s available.”

The Rock has excellent public transport links into the centre of Manchester, which is where Ben originally wanted to buy an apartment. Ben says: “I was looking at an apartment over M&S in Manchester but they were hugely expensive. My new apartment at The Rock is over M&S and is the perfect location but without the massive price tag of central Manchester apartments. I really enjoy having friends over and we have everything we need on the doorstep here. It also has the advantage that it’s really easy to get into the centre of Manchester, as it’s only 20 minutes on the tram.”

Ben concludes: “The Sales Adviser, Linda Parry, made buying really easy and was so helpful. I would recommend Miller Homes to anyone.”
