Taylor Wimpey is offering parents the chance to ‘get rid of the kids’ at its Canalside Wharf development of new homes for sale in Weston, Staffordshire – where the fantastic FirstBuy scheme makes it easy to step on the property ladder.

The perfect solution to the problem of stay-at-home kids who can’t afford to step on the property ladder has arrived at Taylor Wimpey’s Canalside Wharf development of property for sale in Weston, Staffordshire.

As rising property prices force more and more aspiring home-owners to stay put in the parental abode, the leading housebuilder has introduced the fantastic FirstBuy scheme at its sought-after collection of houses and apartments for sale in Weston to help over-grown offspring fly the nest.

With a limited number of new homes in Staffordshire at Canalside Wharf now available under the Government-backed initiative, parents could potentially get rid of the kids by providing a deposit of just £4,599*!

Carl Cooke, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “The need for big deposits and rising house prices means first-time buyers in search of property for sale in Staffordshire have been finding it increasingly hard to make the move into property-ownership.

“This has resulted in many young adults choosing to enjoy those home comforts for longer – which may work out well for them, but isn’t necessarily as much fun for the parents!

“Thankfully with FirstBuy, first-time buyers could secure one of our stunning apartments for sale in Staffordshire at Canalside Wharf for just 80% of its full purchase price – including a 75% mortgage and a 5% deposit, subject to status – which may well be a price worth paying for parents looking to help their kids strike out on their own.”

The FirstBuy scheme, available with selected plots at Canalside Wharf, works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey – which is repayable when the 25-year mortgage is up or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first-time buyers and their total household earnings should be less than £60,000.

For example, a stylish one-bedroom ‘Hinton’ apartment, priced from £114,995, can be accessed by qualifying purchasers for just 80% of its full price – that’s just £91,996! These spacious homes feature a light and airy open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, a generously-sized bedroom, a modern bathroom and plenty of storage space, while outside the property benefits from allocated parking.

Alternatively, three-bedroom houses are available at Canalside Wharf for as little as £199,995, while the impressive four-bedroom ‘Cambridge’ detached house is priced at £359,995.

All new homes at Canalside Wharf are completed to a high standard specification, including gas central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

The former farming community of Weston offers a range of everyday local amenities including a post office, a pub, a primary school, children’s playground, a doctor’s surgery and a village hall all just a short walk away – plus the advantages of canalside living, with relaxing towpath walks and cycling on the doorstep.

The lively town of Stafford lies just a few miles away with its rich variety of shops, places to eat, leisure facilities and nightlife. The town’s railway station provides regular services to London, Birmingham and Liverpool, while the M6 is only a 15-minute drive from the development.
