First time buyers’ dreams of homeownership could come true with help from Redrow.

The award-winning housebuilder is holding a special event for first time buyers at Water’s Edge in the Hanley area of Stoke on Trent this weekend (November 12 and 13).

Aimed at helping those starting out in life make that all-important first step on to the property ladder, the event will enable those who aspire to owning their own home to learn about the different products and incentives available to help make home ownership more affordable.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “The majority of young people still dream of owning a home of their own, but many fear that without thousands of pounds in the bank they will be stuck at home living with mum and dad for several more years or will have to waste their hard earned cash on rent.

“We want to allay fears and offer all the help and support we can to get them moving. At our first time buyer event we will be demonstrating to would-be home owners how easy it is to find out about how much the mortgage will cost, with the help of our friendly team of mortgage advisers, and which property would suit their lifestyle the best.”

Water’s Edge is nearing a sell-out with just a single two-bedroom apartment and three four-bedroom homes available.

There’s the chance to save thousands off the initial price of the apartment with the help of Redrow’s easi:buy scheme. The valuable incentive makes homeownership more affordable by enabling customers to defer paying up to 15% of the purchase price for up to 10 years. It means that the final apartment could be snapped up for an initial outlay of £89,250.

The outstanding balance of £15,750 can be repaid at any time over the 10 years when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell.

Alternatively, parent power could be the key to stepping onto the property ladder.

“A cash gift or loan from the ‘bank of mum and dad’ could help your money go further or depending on your circumstances you may find that your parents are able to act as guarantor for your mortgage,” Anita added.

“Buying a home, particularly your first, may seem daunting and I would urge anyone considering stepping on to the property ladder to visit Water’s Edge this weekend to speak to our friendly, experienced sales team.”
