National first for motability advocates

10th November 2011 Print

An automotive business in Heathrow has become one of the first in the country to display a motability vehicle in its showroom.

Cordwallis Volkswagen Van Centre, in partnership with Taxi and Bus Conversions, is breaking a national trend by enabling customers to experience motability features first hand.

Motability vehicles are usually purchased directly from a select range of conversion companies and often involve customers travelling longer distances for test drives.

John Harkin, Cordwallis Heathrow’s head of business, believes that this latest initiative is proof of the van centre’s commitment to customer service.

He said: “The converted Caddy Maxi in our showroom offers greater convenience for our motability customers.
“It gives them the opportunity to try and test the vehicle so we can tailor it to their needs.”

Motability vehicles are available under a scheme which enables disabled people to obtain a vehicle by using their Government-funded mobility allowances.
