Award-winning housebuilder Miller Homes East Midlands has welcomed the first residents to its Stretton Glen development in Great Glen, Leicestershire.

Jodie Greco, 23, an administrator from North Evington and her fiancé Ronnie White, 25, a bricklayer from Wigston, are now settling in to their two-bedroom Rydal style townhouse, which they purchased through the MiWay incentive.

MiWay is Miller Homes’ very own equity loan scheme, which allows new buyers to purchase 100 per cent of their home whilst only needing to find finance for 80 per cent of the purchase price. Eligible purchasers who take advantage of MiWay receive a loan from Miller Homes for up to 20 per cent, leaving them to arrange a mortgage for the more affordable remaining amount.

“As first time buyers we found MiWay to be the perfect scheme for us. It provided a great opportunity for us to get on the property ladder”, explained Jodie.

“This is our first home together, having previously lived separately with our parents. We were looking for an affordable, secure way to purchase a new home in a good location and MiWay proved to be the ideal solution.

“We fell in love with the Stretton Glen development as soon as we saw it as it has everything we were looking for. The house itself is a great size and has fantastic views. The development is well laid out and we were really excited by the plans.

“The village location also appealed to us, as it has good schools, a community feel and is close to our friends and family.”

Paul Walters, senior sales manager for Miller Homes in the East Midlands, added: “Stretton Glen is obviously the perfect choice for Jodie and Ronnie and we are thrilled to welcome them as the first residents to the development.

“The team at Miller Homes works hard to offer a range of incentives to give confidence to buyers and make home ownership more affordable. Jodie and Ronnie’s story shows that there are options out there for first time buyers, and with the right help and guidance, getting onto the property ladder is an achievable reality.”

Stretton Glen offers a range of two, three, four and five bedroom homes. Amongst the other properties available is the five-bedroom, detached Jura style home available for £374,950 with an integral double garage and two en-suite shower rooms, and the three-bedroom Auden style townhouse with prices starting from £234,950.
