Myth-busting housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is aiming to dispel popular misconceptions about the mortgage market – and reassure first-time buyers that they can afford to step onto the property ladder at one of its high-quality developments of new homes for sale in Norfolk.

First-time buyers who believe the Norfolk property ladder is out of their reach will think again if they attend Taylor Wimpey’s Mortgage Myths Forum in Norwich.

Research commissioned by the leading housebuilder, which is currently building a number of developments of property for sale in Norfolk, suggests that many would-be buyers are deterred from looking into a property purchase because they assume they won’t qualify for a mortgage.

But this special event at Taylor Wimpey’s NR1 development of apartments for sale in Norwich on Thursday 5th January will see Taylor Wimpey set the record straight.

Two forums will take place, one starting at 6pm and a later one at 8pm, when Taylor Wimpey experts will dispel popular misconceptions about mortgage lending and explain to potential first-time buyers how it could be much easier than they think to afford their very own property in Norfolk.

Stacy Dornan, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, says: “Our research shows that 92% of people think it is hard for first-time buyers to secure a mortgage, and that two out of three prospective property purchasers are completely put off from applying because they fear they will be turned down.

“By attending our Mortgage Myths Forum at NR1, would-be buyers in search of apartments or houses for sale in Norfolk will not only find a new property could be comfortably within their reach, but they’ll be pleasantly surprised at how straightforward and stress-free the whole process can be when purchasing a Taylor Wimpey home – and they may only need a 5% deposit.”

The Mortgage Myths Forum will include an informative presentation from Taylor Wimpey’s experienced sales team and an independent financial advisor to demystify the mortgage application process.

The advisor will also be able to assess individual circumstances on the spot, and offer advice on how it is possible to secure a brand new Taylor Wimpey home at NR1 in Norwich city centre, Beaufort Park in Carbrooke, Watton and at Symphony Gardens in Attleborough.

First-time buyers can also find out about the range of money-saving incentives offered by Taylor Wimpey, which means they could potentially purchase their new property with only a 5% deposit.

The Government-backed FirstBuy scheme is one of the initiatives available for first-time buyers at Beaufort Park and NR1 and means selected new homes can be accessed by eligible purchasers for 80% of the full price, including a 75% mortgage and a 5% deposit, subject to status.

Alternatively, the low cost homes scheme at Symphony Gardens allows qualifying buyers to access selected properties for 75% of their full price.

Full details of these fantastic incentives will be available at the Mortgage Myths Forum.

Prices for three-bedroom houses start from just £133,995 and four-bedroom properties from only £179,995 at Beaufort Park, which is located off Norwich Road, Carbrooke, Watton, IP25 6GY.

One-bedroom apartments are priced from as little as £147,995 and two-bedroom designs from just £177,995 at NR1, in Geoffrey Watling Way, NR1 1GW.

Meanwhile, two-bedroom bungalows start from £159,995 and three-bedroom houses are priced from £157,995 at Symphony Gardens, located off Teasel Road, Attleborough, NR17 1XX.

The first Mortgage Myths Forum takes place at 6pm, and the second at 8pm, on Thursday 5th January at the NR1 Sales Information Centre, located in Broadland Court, Wherry Road, Norwich NR1 1UN.
