A music lover from Merseyside is celebrating winning what he describes as ‘the best Christmas present ever’… a one-of-a-kind SEAT Ibiza fitted with a state-of-the-art audio-visual system worth thousands of pounds.

Electrician Daniel Davies is the envy of his friends after scooping the unique supermini – specially produced to celebrate the second season of the acclaimed Channel 4 music show, On Track with SEAT.

The bespoke model has been fitted out by in-car entertainment specialists Kenwood Electronics and boasts everything from an awesome 2,800-watt sound system to a 22-inch TV screen in the boot.

The On Track Music SEAT Ibiza SC Sportrider was given away in a Channel 4 competition that ran throughout the On Track with SEAT series.

The unique car is fitted with more than £4,000-worth of the latest audio technology and comes complete with luxury touches such as unique leather seats, climate control and sporty 17-inch alloy wheels.

After collecting the keys from local dealer Liverpool SEAT 25-year-old Daniel joked: ‘All my mates are desperate to see it.  I’ve got more stops to make than Santa on my way home!’

His win came courtesy of a competition run throughout the second series of On Track with SEAT, which featured the likes of Example, Manic Street Preachers, Friendly Fires and Kaiser Chiefs recording a selection of their own songs plus a favourite cover version, straight to limited-edition vinyl EP.

While watching the Kaiser Chiefs episode, Daniel correctly answered a question online and thought no more about it.  But, just weeks later, he was told his name had been drawn from the tens-of-thousands of competition entrants.

A delighted Daniel, who has been without a car since his broke down a year ago, said: ‘When I heard I’d won I couldn’t believe my luck.  I was absolutely made up.

‘My girlfriend Kelly’s over the moon, too, because she knows she’ll get to drive it.’

Daniel’s new car is based on the stylish SEAT Ibiza SC 1.4 85 PS Sportrider, which normally retails at £12,625, can zip from rest to 62 mph in a sprightly 11.8 seconds and is good for 110 mph.

This stunning model comes with a generous complement of standard equipment including 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control, a combined USB/Aux-in port, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors and automatic lights and windscreen wipers.

But SEAT and Kenwood Electronics teamed up to make Daniel’s prize car truly special.

First they fitted luxury leather seats embossed with the On Track with SEAT logo and then they went to work on the in-car technology and entertainment.  The system is headed-up by Kenwood’s feature-packed DNX5260BT DVD/USB Receiver running through a 6.1-inch full colour touch screen on the dash.  This delivers full iPod connectivity allowing access to an entire MP3 music library on the move at the touch of a button.

There’s also an integrated Parrot Bluetooth module enabling mobile phone calls to be made quickly, easily and legally while driving – and an easy-to-use Garmin satellite navigation system.  Oh, and there’s CD and even DVD playback on offer.

The Kenwood multimedia system controls two powerful amplifiers that pump out 2,800 watts of power to the fully customised Ibiza.  The front door cards and boot area have been redesigned to house two pairs of Kenwood Electronics’ finest speakers and a bass-making 12-inch subwoofer.  Finally, there’s even a 22-inch remote controlled HD TV in the boot.

The first series of On Track with SEAT attracted more than three million viewers and scooped a prestigious Music Week award.  The second series was fronted by Tom Ravenscroft – son of Radio 1 legend John Peel and a regular on BBC digital radio station 6 Music.  Check out facebook.co.uk/seatmusic for exclusive content from the show.

SEAT UK Head of Marketing, Chris Stevens, said: ‘This car has to be seen to be believed and I’m sure Daniel’s going to love showing it off to all his mates.  Everyone who has seen it here at SEAT has been amazed by it!’
