First time buyers’ dreams of home ownership could come true with help from Redrow.

The award-winning housebuilder is holding a special event for first time buyers in Barton upon Humber this weekend (January 21/22) when an independent financial advisor will be on hand from noon to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Aimed at assisting those starting out in life to make that all-important first step on to the property ladder, the event at Fox’s Fold will enable them to learn about the different products and incentives available to help make home ownership more affordable.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “The majority of young people still dream of owning a home of their own, but many fear that without thousands of pounds in the bank they will be stuck at home living with mum and dad for several more years or will have to waste their hard earned cash on rent.

“We want to allay fears and offer all the help and support we can to get them moving. At our first time buyer event we will be demonstrating to would-be home owners how easy it is to find out about how much the mortgage will cost, with the help of our friendly team of mortgage advisers, and which property would suit their lifestyle the best.”

Fox’s Fold is one of a diminishing number of places where eligible purchasers can save almost a third off the price of a brand new home with HomeBuy Direct.

It means those with savings of around £3,675 could find they only need a mortgage of £69,834 to buy a two-bedroom Evesham style home, available on the open market for £104,999.

Those who have saved slightly more and want somewhere larger could find that a deposit of £4,375 and a mortgage of £83,124 is all they need to buy a three-bedroom Broadway, usually costing £124,999.

Alternatively, buyers could find that parent power is the key to home ownership.

“A cash gift or loan from the ‘bank of mum and dad’ could help your money go further or depending on your circumstances you may find that your parents are able to act as guarantor for your mortgage,” Patsy added.

“Anyone who’s considering buying a home of their own should head along to Fox’s Fold this weekend to speak to an independent financial adviser and our friendly experienced sales team over refreshments.”
