Two new show apartments will open at Evolution, Barratt London’s development in Edgware, North West London, on the weekend of the 4th February 2012, giving prospective buyers the chance to view the kind of properties available to buy here.

The opening is expected to attract a range of potential buyers, including investors, first time buyers and downsizers and it will give potential purchasers an opportunity to talk to the sales team, as well as to get a feel for the local community and the surrounding area.

The show apartments are designed by Honky, an award-winning interior design company based in South West London. Danielle Strzelecki, Designer at Honky, comments on the one bedroom show apartment:

“The use of light, cool colours, set against the warm tones of the oak flooring throughout create a comfortable and cosy living space. This is enhanced with the eclectic mix of minimalistic Scandinavian classics and the traditional, yet elegant furniture. Mixed with vintage accessories, bold patterns, vibrant colours and textured wools, this apartment is transformed into an stylishly understated and informal living environment.”

And on the two bedroom show apartment:

“A relaxed, yet sophisticated scheme, this two bedroom apartment consists of a palette of natural linens, light sheers and warm leather tans, combined with splashes of bright chrome, set against the rich walnut floors. Statement campaign furniture and travel related items appear throughout, which is emphasised in the styling; beds layered with throws and cushions to complete the look. A neutral backdrop with the appearance of timeless pieces and antique accessories makes this apartment appeal to men and women alike.”

First time buyers are reminded that there is still time to buy a one bed apartment for £220,000 with a deposit of just 4% and a loan of 20% from Barratt Homes and the Government, with the help of the Government’s FirstBuy scheme.

Gary Patrick, regional sales director, Barratt London, says;

“The new show homes on site help prospective buyers to experience the quality and finish of their new homes, and are a great way for us to showcase not only the individual properties, but also the growing community at the development.”

He adds: “Evolution is a great place for London commuters looking for an affordable place to live within a half hour to central London on the underground. Young professionals appreciate that much of the trip is over ground, so blackberries and ipads are useable for most of the journey.”
“At the same time, residents have a wide range of country activities in the surrounding areas, including an 18-hole golf course, a riding school and a gym all close by, meaning that people can work in the city during the week, and live the country lifestyle at the weekends.”

Evolution is a regeneration development of over 900 homes located in North West London. Upon completion, it will comprise one, two and three-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom houses spread over 30 acres of landscaped grounds. The development, designed by a collaboration of architects overseen by masterplanners Sprunt, is a collection of neighbourhoods linked by paths and green open spaces.

All the apartments are light and spacious with modern appliances and feature a balcony or terrace, some overlooking the greenbelt. The London Academy, a well-regarded secondary school bordering the development, serves the local area.

Residents at Evolution have a broad range of entertainment and activities to choose from. By car, the Edgwarebury Golf Course is just a minute away, and the popular Brent Cross Shopping Centre is just 20 minutes from the development. The local amenities in Stanmore and Edgware are a short walk away.

Evolution is positioned on the edge of the Metropolitan Green Belt and just a short tube journey into Central London, making it ideal for the London commuter. Edgware Tube Station on the Northern Line is an 15 minute walk away and Stanmore Tube Station, on the Jubilee Line, is just a 15 minute walk, enabling residents to reach Camden Town in 26 minutes, Kings Cross St Pancras in 31 minutes, or Oxford Circus in 34 minutes. The M1/A1 is 5 minutes away by car, which opens up possibilities of travel outside of London.

Prices at Evolution start from £220,000 on the FirstBuy scheme.
