It was a case of lights, camera, action at a Wirral housing development when it provided the backdrop to a new marketing film that gives a ‘child’s view’ of a new home.

Shot through the eyes of five-year-old Issy Duckworth, the promotional video gives a starring role to one of Redrow’s much admired show homes at Dibbin Brook, Bromborough. The film is now being used as part of the house builder’s new marketing campaign, which is currently airing on Redrow’s own website, broadband TV channel, social media and property portals.

On YouTube alone it was watched more than 1,300 times in the first five days and the popularity of the film is growing.

Capturing the style and features that appeal most to children, it was shot inside the ‘Chester’ show home at the Dibbin Brook. As a four-bedroom family home, it was deemed to be the perfect place to demonstrate how a home is viewed from a youngster’s perspective.

The film aims to share a little bit of the ‘ joy’ that comes with owning a brand new home and builds on the success of Redrow’s successful ‘Our Pride ~ Your Joy’ campaign, which highlights how Redrow employees are committed to building quality homes that customers can enjoy living in.

In the latest film, Issy, from Winsford, Cheshire, demonstrates how “Redrow built the perfect family home” with a dining area “big enough to feed an army” and utility room “to keep everything nice and clean”.

Proud of her daughter’s part in the film, Issy’s mum Kerry said: “Issy was one of a number of children of different ages screen tested by Redrow and was over the moon when they chose her to appear in the film. They said she had just the right amount of ‘cute factor’ and was a natural in front of the camera.

“Issy’s confident anyway but I think she’s even more confident in front of the camera – she’s a little superstar and a diva in the making.

“She loved every minute of it and the feedback we’ve had has been amazing. Her friends absolutely love it and some have asked for her autograph because they think she’s famous,” Kerry added.

“It’s amazing how many people have viewed the film. Everyone loves the bit where she’s putting the toys to bed.”

The film will be rolled out to appear in press advertisements and other marketing material.
