Genesis is pleased to announce the first release of apartments available for shared-ownership at Stratford Halo, its flagship development overlooking the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, E15.

Stratford Halo is one of the most eagerly anticipated developments in London, and interest has been increasing steadily as the London Olympics draw closer. Just 500 metres from the focus of all the Olympic action, Stratford Halo stands to benefit not only from the excitement of the UK’s event of the century, but also from the intensive regeneration programme that is making the district one of the most desirable in the capital for property buyers.

Yet thanks to shared ownership, buying a property in this hottest of locations is now affordable; a 25% share of a one-bedroom apartment start at just £55,000, based on a full market value of £220,000. Two-bedroom units start at £65,000 for a 25% in a property worth £260,000.

Eight one- and two-bedroom apartments are so far available for shared ownership in Sapphire Court, with a further selection available in April. Each property boasts a high-specification finish; interior fittings include designer kitchens complete with Bosch appliances, and wood-strip flooring and carpets.

The development also has a wealth of features that are not usually associated with affordable housing: CCTV, secure underground parking spaces and a car club.

Located in an unrivalled position by the principal entrance to London’s 2012 Olympic Park, the Stratford Halo encapsulates the thrill and the vibrant legacy of the London Olympics.

Yet despite this location in the thick of the Olympic buzz, Stratford Halo enjoys a peaceful riverside location surrounded by landscaped grounds, which include a children’s play area and a riverside promenade.

Stratford Halo – is a mixed-use development of 704 new homes in five buildings, as well as retail, commercial and leisure space and workspace studios.

It is situated at the heart of the area’s multi-billion pound regeneration scheme, which has made Stratford one of the best connected locations in London. Nearby is the recently opened Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest urban shopping centre. A host of other facilities and amenities, including schools, hotels, parks and health centres, are scheduled to be built as part of the comprehensive redevelopment of the area, creating an ideally convenient and well-planned living environment.

Stratford has some of London’s best public transport links, so residents can enjoy a speedy commute into Central London, the City and Canary Wharf. It is served by the Jubilee and Central lines on the London Underground, the Docklands Light Railway and over land rail services, including the High Speed domestic rail services that will allow commuters to travel into Central London in just seven minutes. In the future, Stratford will have a station on the Crossrail line, providing Eurostar international services to Paris and Brussels.

Shared ownership is a scheme designed to help buyers who cannot otherwise afford to purchase their first property. Buyers can purchase between 25% and 75% of a property and increase their share at any time, all the way to 100% and outright ownership.

The shared-ownership apartments at Sapphire Court are available to anyone who does not already own a property and is unable to buy a home on the open market. Their total annual household income must be less than £60,000 and they should have savings of about £3,500 to cover moving and legal costs.
