With Battersea predicted to be the next London hotspot, thanks to the major regeneration of Battersea Power Station and the surrounding area, savvy buyers should take a look at Kingsway Square, where Genesis has the last few remaining studio apartments for sale. Available through shared ownership, these properties not only enjoy an enviable location within the grounds of a stunning Grade II listed Victorian former college, but offer the opportunity to live within the capital’s exciting new cosmopolitan district at an affordable price.

Set within the grounds of the former Westminster Kingsway College, the studio apartments at Kingsway Square offer perfect city pads without a hefty price tag. They are available on a part-buy/part-rent basis with prices starting from only £61,250 for a 25% share in a studio apartment based on a full market price of £245,000.

Buyers can purchase between 25% and 75% and increase their share at any time, all the way to 100% and outright ownership. The apartments are available to anyone who does not already own a property and is unable to buy a home on the open market. Their total household income must be less than £60,000 per annum and ideally they must have savings of around £3,500 to cover moving and legal costs.

With potential to rival Canary Wharf and the City of London, the regeneration of Battersea Power Station includes new homes, office space, a hotel, conference centre, shops, a 6 acre riverside park and two new tube stations on the Northern Line. The new United States Embassy will also be located in the area, and a mile long redevelopment zone is planned along the southern bank of the River Thames between Chelsea Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge. In addition, Lord Foster is planning up to 2,450 new homes, plus shops, offices and a new hotel, just off New Covent Garden Market.

Buyers at Kingsway Square can expect to greatly benefit from these exciting regeneration plans, especially the new leisure and transport facilities. With new tube stations, green open space, entertainment destinations, shops and restaurants, residents can look forward to an exciting city life.

Designed around a number of landscaped central courtyards, the properties are in the new build element of the development, which has been carefully designed to complement the former college. They are accessed via the magnificent entrance to the main Victorian building and offer excellent security features, including 24 hour concierge and audio entry phone access.

Each of the studio apartments has its own style and character, for example one apartment is situated on the ground floor and has French windows looking directly onto the landscaped gardens. Another apartment has a balcony where residents can enjoy the views over the courtyards, whilst another has stunning period windows overlooking the Victorian mansions opposite the development.

Designed with a great specification, each property has a fully fitted kitchen with high-gloss cabinets and contrasting work surfaces complete with an electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Bathrooms come fully fitted with a thermostatic over-bath shower and heated towel rail, while vinyl flooring and wall tiling around the bath area provide a complementary finish. Living areas, hallways and bedrooms are all fitted with luxurious hard-wearing carpets and each property has a generous sized storage cupboard.

In advance of the transformation of Battersea Power Station there are already an excellent range of local amenities, shops, bars and restaurants. The development is also within minutes of Battersea Park which includes 200 acres of landscaped gardens, a children’s zoo, boating lake and all weather sports facilities.

Current transport facilities include Battersea Park station which is only a five minute walk, offering a 3 minute service to London Victoria. Here there are mainline train services as well as the Circle, District and Victoria tube lines. In addition, regular bus routes service Clapham, Wandsworth, Sloane Square and the West End.
