Those who long for a home of their own could find they’re living the dream sooner than anticipated with help from Redrow.

The award-winning housebuilder is holding a special event for first time buyers in Grimsby this Saturday (February 11) when an independent financial advisor will be on hand from noon to 4pm.

During the event at Kirk’s Paddock aspiring home owners will be able learn about the different products and incentives available to help make that crucial first step onto the property ladder.

Kirk’s Paddock is one of a diminishing number of developments where HomeBuy Direct is still available, enabling eligible purchasers to save almost a third off the initial price of a brand new home.

But time is of the essence as those who want to take advantage of the Government-backed scheme must reserve their new home by mid-February and legally complete the purchase by the end of March.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “HomeBuy Direct is designed to help those who would otherwise be priced out of the property market to buy a home of their own at a price they can afford. It’s been a great success at Kirk’s Paddock but time is running out for those who want to take advantage of the scheme.

“We want to allay fears and offer all the help and support we can to get them moving. At our first time buyer event we will be demonstrating to would-be home owners how easy it is to find out about how much the mortgage will cost, with the help of our friendly team of mortgage advisers, and which property would suit their lifestyle the best.”

Prices at Kirk’s Paddock start from £131,999 or £92,399 with HomeBuy Direct.

Thanks to the Government-backed scheme, those with savings of around £4,620 may only need a mortgage of £87,779 to step onto the property ladder and buy a three-bedroom Broadway style home. The remaining 30% share of the property’s full market value is covered by an equity loan, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes & Communities Agency.

Alternatively, buyers could find that parent power is the key to home ownership.

“A cash gift or loan from the ‘bank of mum and dad’ could help your money go further or depending on your circumstances you may find that your parents are able to act as guarantor for your mortgage,” Patsy added.

“Anyone who’s considering buying a home of their own should head along to Kirk’s Paddock this Saturday to speak to an independent financial adviser and our friendly experienced sales team over refreshments.”
