Now first time buyers in Bromborough, Wirral, can benefit from a Government-backed help scheme designed to make buying a home of their own more affordable.

Newly launched at Dibbin Brook, FirstBuy gives people with only a small deposit a helping hand to buy a home. It provides would-be home owners with an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price but buyers own their entire home from day one.

With a selection of two and three-bedroom homes from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection recently made available at Dibbin Brook, Wirral first time buyers can finally take advantage of this vital scheme.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), explains: “FirstBuy is one of the important measures introduced by the Government to help first time buyers to step onto the property ladder.

“It makes buying possible for many who thought the credit squeeze had priced them out of the market. The initially interest free loan is jointly funded by us, the developer, and the Government. It means you can experience the joy of owning 100% of your first home but pay a smaller deposit and have lower monthly mortgage repayments.”

Who is eligible for the scheme?
You could quality for the FirstBuy scheme if you meet the following criteria:

you are a first time buyer (or want to return to home ownership)
your household earnings are less than £60,000 a year

The scheme can be used to purchase two and three-bedroom homes at Dibbin Brook, priced from £142,995 (initial outlay with FirstBuy just £114,396).

A deposit of 5% of the property price could be all you’ll need and the loan can be paid back when you have more funds available or come to sell.

“It’s perfect for those on lower incomes now who expect their salaries to rise over time,” Anita said.

These smaller homes have all the features and benefits of the larger New Heritage Collection family homes that have already proved so popular at Dibbin Brook. They’ve been influenced by the architecture of the Arts & Crafts era so look appealing from the outside, while inside they boast bright, modern interiors with convivial open plan spaces and high quality fixtures and fittings.

Kitchens are both practical and stylish and are well-equipped with integrated top brand name appliances including oven, microwave and fridge freezer, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage.

In addition to the properties available through FirstBuy, three and four-bedroom detached family homes are also available at Dibbin Brook, priced from £215,995.

Tucked away off the A41, close to Port Sunlight village and with opportunities for woodland walks and nature trails, Dibbin Brook may seem a world away from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living; yet the homes enjoy easy access to Liverpool, Chester and Manchester by road or rail, with a wealth of local amenities nearby.
