Family homes to ease the pressure

While a large number of London families are squeezing into homes too small for them, owning a bigger home can actually be more affordable than many people realise. In London, 35% of children share a bedroom with one or two siblings, according to a recent survey by findaproperty.com, and 40% of parents aged up to 34 think their home is too small for their family. To ease the pressure on space and finances, Family Mosaic, leading affordable housing developer, is offering three-bedroom family homes in attractive parts of London for as little as £132,750.

Families looking for a little more living space won’t have to compromise on location, convenience and transport links at Family Mosaic’s stylish developments. Fantastic three-bedroom homes are on offer at Highbury Quadrant, Highbury Park and Harper Square.

Lauren Nicholson, Head of Marketing at Family Mosaic, comments: “Many families think they can’t afford to buy a property that meets their size and location requirements and they are forced to live in homes that are far too small for their needs. For those who are in this situation, or perhaps expecting a child or planning to add to their family in the near future, shared ownership can be an affordable way to secure a bigger home. And with many low mortgage rates currently available, now is the ideal time for families to think about upsizing.”

At Highbury Quadrant, N5, conveniently located between Islington and Stoke Newington, the three-bedroom maisonettes each have their own private garden. The three bedroom apartments at 85 Highbury Park, N5, are part of a development that will also offer an on-site nursery, gardens and other amenities. The homes at Harper Square, SE1, between Borough and Elephant & Castle, are set around landscaped communal areas, close to public transport links.

All of the homes offer spacious and flexible living spaces to suit the needs of a growing family. And family living won’t mean compromising on style – the homes are fitted with high quality, contemporary kitchens equipped with fully integrated appliances, engineered oak flooring in the living areas, luxurious bathroom suites and fully carpeted bedrooms.

These family homes are available under shared ownership, which allows purchasers to buy the share of their home that they can afford (at least 30%), and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share of the property. Buyers can increase their share at any time, by 10% at any time, all the way to up 100%. To be eligible for the scheme, buyers need to be living or working in the local area, earning less than £60,000 a year and be purchasing the apartment as their first and only home

Homes at Highbury Quadrant are priced at £132,750 for a 30% share of a three-bedroom maisonette with a full market value of £442,500. Homes at Highbury Park and Harper Square are due to be released for sale shortly – register interest now.
