Discerning property-seekers will soon be able to take their pick from an impressive selection of homes at Taylor Wimpey’s new Lyde Green development in Bristol, where work is now under way.

Following the completion of the purchase of the site by the leading housebuilder in late 2013, construction began this month on the development of 223 new homes, which will make up part of the 99-hectare Emersons Green East Urban Extension on the northern outskirts of Bristol.

Lyde Green will offer a choice of high-quality two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, with the first plots due to go on sale in the spring.

A range of brand new community facilities is also set to be provided as the wider urban extension takes shape, including primary and secondary schools, a community hall and sports pitches.

Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “The start of work on site is always an exciting milestone for any new development as it means you can see the new homes begin to take shape.

“We can’t wait to unveil our fantastic collection of properties to local house-hunters and with demand expected to be high, I would encourage anyone who hope to secure one of these fabulous homes to register their interest now to ensure they don’t miss out!”

Lyde Green is an exciting new community just nine miles north of Bristol, surrounded by rolling Gloucestershire countryside, offering a relaxed, community-centred lifestyle for residents of all ages.

With excellent local amenities and easily accessible transport links, the development will in time benefit from leafy parkland, schools, commercial properties, leisure facilities and local shops and services on the doorstep as the wider Emersons Green East Urban Extension is constructed.

Just off the A4174, Lyde Green boasts easy access to the city centres of both Bristol and Bath, which are eight and 13 miles away respectively, while a park and ride bus route is in the pipeline, and miles of cycleways and footpaths are planned for residents to enjoy.

Commuters will appreciate that Bristol Parkway railway station is five miles from home and Bristol Temple Meads station just eight miles away for frequent services to London, the West Country and the North, while Junction 18 of the M4 is also within easy reach.

Lyde Green’s location will make easy work of the school run, with a great choice of primary schools within two miles of home and several secondary schools nearby, including The Ridings’ Federation Winterbourne International Academy and King's Oak Academy, both of which were rated ‘good’ in their most recent Ofsted inspections. There are also proposals for primary and secondary schools to be built on the development.

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors nearby, including Emersons Green Village Park, and a number of play areas for children, while regular activities take place at Emersons Green Village Hall. Supermarkets are in close proximity for the weekly shop, while Emersons Green also has several pubs.
