basilico, the original delivery company specializing in artisan pizzas cooked in wood fired ovens, has opened a new branch in Crouch End.

Now open, the new site, located at 51 Park Road, N8, will be open daily for takeaway and delivery, as well as dine-in.

basilico prides itself on creating interesting-looking shops, and Crouch End is no different, with one wall painted the same light green as the basilico logo, and the other in wood. Diners can choose to eat at high tables, which are fitted along the front windows and one wall, with stools to perch on, seating 12.

basilico has become known for its pizzas, all hand-prepared and always baked in the wood-fired oven to achieve that authentic, crispy base, available in three sizes (10”, 13” and 18”) and featuring a wide range of toppings using top quality ingredients, such as fior di latte mozzarella. These include the signature napolitana (Mediterranean salted anchovies, black olives, chopped tomato and mozzarella) and pizza funghi au truffle (wild mushrooms, tomato, basil, mozzarella, Italian salami and truffle oil). The chefs have also just created a new pizza bread for the summer, which includes Z’atar, a popular Middle Eastern spice blend of toasted sesame seeds, dried thyme, dried marjoram and sumac mixed with olive oil.

basilico is not just about the pizza though, with a build-your-own salad option recently introduced, and dishes such as whole roast chicken, prepared in the wood fired oven, also available. Crouch End will also offer a blackboard menu of specials, such as special pizzas of the week, smoothies and salads. Meals can be rounded off with a freshly blended fruit smoothie or two sizes of Oddonos renowned ice cream.

Pizzas are priced at around £9 for the small size, £11 for medium and £15 for large. At Crouch End, pizza is also available by the slice, to especially target the family market.

From its first opening in Lavender Hill in 1998, the ethos of basilico has been for quality, innovation, service and value across the board, and after 12 years, the founders remain true to their principles. Each store has its own individual look and character, and each still makes their own dough, tomato sauce, smoothies, salads and many other items on the menu fresh every day.

basilico now offers six sites across London, in Lavender Hill, Fulham Road, Finchley Road, East Sheen and Islington, as well as Crouch End. Orders can be made online, by calling the relevant site, or in person.
