Austrian, together with Lufthansa and Swiss, has been voted into first place in its traditional European scheduled segment in the readers’ survey of specialist business magazine Capital.

Aer Lingus is to increase its long haul fuel surcharge on routes to the US, effective from Wednesday, 14 May 2008. The increase is as a direct result of the record upsurge in the price of oil in recent weeks and the airline's rising fuel bill. No fuel surcharge is applied on any of the 82 short haul routes operated by Aer Lingus.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional low cost airline, this week begins operating flights between Inverness and Exeter, Manchester and Southampton in the continued roll-out of its 2008 summer schedule. Flights start from only £24.99 and are available for booking now online.

Aer Arann today launched a new improved schedule on the Cork-Dublin route. This new schedule is in response to passenger demand for an improved choice of timings in the morning. Aer Arann has reintroduced an 8am departure, flight number RE604, arriving in Dublin at 8.55am. Cork passengers can now choose from 7am and 8am departures for flights to Dublin.

Aer Arann launched their new jet services to the sun destinations of Malaga and Faro from Galway and Waterford airports last weekend. These new Aer Arann jet routes provide customers with the convenience of direct services between the South East and Western regions of Ireland to the summer sun destinations of Spain and Portugal.

Delta is the newest recipient of the prestigious 2008 Green Cross for Safety Medal presented each year by The National Safety Council. The award, presented during a ceremony April 30 at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, recognizes organizations and their leaders for outstanding achievements in safety and health, community service and responsible citizenship.
