30 March 2007

Wizz Air, the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe has again confirmed its leadership in the largest CEE country. According to the Polish Civil Aviation Office's latest report which summarizes 2006 passenger traffic, Wizz Air reinforces its market position as the largest low cost airline and the second largest airline in Poland.

The total market grew by close to 30% to over 14 million, while the number of passengers carried by the low cost airlines almost doubled to 6.5 million. Wizz Air accounts for 15% of the total airline market in Poland, 3 percentage points up from last year's 12%. Wizz Air carried close to 2.1 million passengers from and to Poland, 67% more than in 2005. In 2007, the airline will carry over 3 million passengers on its Polish routes.

“We continue our dynamic growth and reinforce our leadership in one of the world's fastest growing markets. 67% of passenger traffic increase clearly demonstrates that our low fares, ever growing number of routes and great customer experience are highly appealing to the customers flying to and from Poland. We are highly committed to Poland and the CEE region and will only reinforce our leadership in the years to come.” said Natasa Kazmer, Director of Corporate Communication & Public Affairs in Wizz Air.
