Wizz Air bases third aircraft in Gdansk
21 September 2007

Wizz Air announced today that it would base an additional A320 aircraft in Gdansk in Poland in March 2008. It will be the airline’s third aircraft at this base.

The expansion in Gdansk follows the opening of Wizz Air's fourth Polish base in Poznan in January 2008 and marks the 11th Wizz aircraft deployed in Poland.

Starting on 15 March 2008 Wizz Air will open new routes from Gdansk to Bournemouth, Coventry and Gothenburg and add frequencies on its existing services. With this, Wizz Air expects to grow the number of passengers traveling to and from Gdansk to more than 1 million in 2008.

Tickets can be booked from as low as GBP 19.99 one way including all taxes and charges on wizzair.com.

"Expanding our market presence in Poland remains one of our key strategies. Wizz Air is the largest low cost carrier in Poland already and we aim at becoming the largest airline of the country, in terms of carried passengers. The growth of our Gdansk base is another step in that direction." - said József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
