Wizz Air renew Budapest – Tirgu Mures service
24 April 2008
Wizz Air, the largest Central and Eastern European based low fare - low cost airline announced that it would move its flights serving the Budapest – Transylvania route from Cluj to Tirgu Mures Airport. The effective move of the flights will take place on 15 May 2008 concurrently with Wizz Air's newest operating base opening in Cluj.
Wizz Air started to fly from Tirgu Mures Airport in July 2006 and decided to move its Transylvanian operation to Cluj in November 2007. While Cluj has been a successful move for Wizz Air overall, after having operated in both markets, it is clear that Tirgu Mures is the preferred market in Transylvania for passengers wishing to travel to/from Budapest.
Passengers who have already booked their flights for the Budapest - Cluj flights will be informed about the schedule change individually. The Budapest-Tirgu Mures flights will be operated three times a week at the same times as the current Budapest-Cluj flights.
