Behind the scenes of top racecourse stables with The Montpellier Chapter

To mark the Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival on Friday 16 March, The Montpellier Chapter has launched a behind the scenes horse racing experience.
Horseracing lovers can gain a glimpse into the life of a top trainer by taking an early morning trip to the stables of racing guru Kim Bailey, followed by an overnight stay at The Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham.
Guests are able to watch Kim put his horses through their paces as they train at Thorndale Farm near Andoversford, which is set in 1,000 acres of Cotswold countryside. Visitors receive a private tour of the hillside estate and have the chance to question Kim about his life as a racehorse trainer. After the one and a half hour visit, equestrian fans return for a hearty breakfast.
Kim Bailey has trained nearly 1,000 horses and is the only trainer to have achieved the magical ‘Big Three’ – a win at The Grand National, The Cheltenham Gold Cup and The Champion Hurdle.
The Kim Bailey package is available throughout the year (excluding July and August.) Rates start from £199 based on two people sharing a Deluxe Room including breakfast, a visit to Kim Bailey’s Racing Stables and return transport to Thorndale Farm.
