With festival season fast approaching Cheapflights.co.uk advises travellers that now is the time to book flights to ensure the best deals to Europe’s greatest gigs.

Benicassim Festival, Spain (12-14 July 2012)
Benicassim Festival is ideal for those who want to combine a festival experience with a summer holiday. The festival campsites, which are next to one of Europe’s most beautiful beaches, are open from 11 July, so guests can relax to the max and soak up the sunshine before the four-day music explosion kicks off on 14 July. Be warned, this festival is not for the faint-hearted - headline acts hit the stage at 1am and the parties last to 8am. There is a wide range of music on offer from electro and pop, to indie and rock. This year’s acts include The Streets, Paolo Nutini, Pendulum and The Arctic Monkeys. T in the Park – Kinkross, Scotland (6-8 July 2012)
This three-day rock event has been known to sell out in a little as 90 minutes and continues to grow every year, taking on up to ten stages. T in the Park is not just a music festival, it also boasts remarkable fairgrounds. Don’t forget your sleeping bag because the best way to experience this event is by taking advantage of the extensive campgrounds, situated amidst the gently rolling hills of Kinross. Bestival – Isle of Wight, England (20-24 June 2012)
Probably one of the most eclectic festivals, Bestival offers an alternative and diverse option to the typical corporate music fest. This children-friendly, four-day event boasts music from renowned rock artists, as well as quirky tents and competitions. The most popular event is Fancy Dress, where attendees dress up in outlandish costumes. In 2010, 55,000 festival goers participated in Fancy Dress and ended up breaking a Guinness World Record.

Rock im Park/ Rock am Ring – Nuremberg and Nürburg, Germany (1-3 June 2012)
This three-day rock festival is the largest music festival in Germany and divides itself between two cities - Nuremberg and Nürburg. Both festivals occur simultaneously, so choose between the tranquil scenery of Nürburg or the historical city atmosphere of Nuremberg. Sziget Fesztivál – Budapest, Hungary (6-13 August 2012)
Originally, Sziget started as a Hungarian music event created to boost the summer festival scene after the fall of Communism. Now it’s gone on to become one of the most international music affairs in Europe. You’ll find a stage for all genres, including world music, blues, jazz and rock. The festival is conveniently located on an island in the centre of Budapest, so day-trips into the city are a great way to add to the Sziget experience. Flights to Budapest start from £124 return.
