Free to play to take on AAA console games
InnoGames’ chief marketing office Volker Dressel will argue that free to play games are on the cusp of giving AAA console games a run for their money at the F2P Summit in London on 28 March.
During his presentation, Dressel will discuss emerging cross-platform technologies, along with the pros and cons of this surging trend for game developers and publishers, such as fragmentation of platforms and working with the multitude of technology providers.
“Cross-platform gaming changes the face of free-to-play in several ways, and is positioned to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the trend. Not only can people now access the same live game through basically anything with a screen, and play with anyone around the world, but no download is required and graphic quality is reaching a point to give AAA console titles a run for their money,” he commented.
