New homes in Pensnett are coming soon

Taylor Wimpey and London and Cambridge Properties Ltd have teamed up to launch Himley View, a major new development of houses for sale in Pensnett, Dudley.

An exciting new development of property for sale in Dudley is set to provide hundreds of much-needed homes for the local community – and complete a remarkable coincidence for one Black Country man.

Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey West Midlands and commercial property specialists London and Cambridge Properties Ltd (LCP) are working together to build 335 new homes for sale in Pensnett, off Tansey Green Road, with the first plots set to be released for sale this April, subject to planning approval.

Progress with the forthcoming Himley View development of properties to buy in Pensnett is of particular interest to John Symons, who worked as mining engineer at the LCP-owned site almost 30 years ago.

With family living in the area, John is now looking forward to overseeing the dramatic transformation of his former workplace to an exciting new development of property for sale in Pensnett – in his current role as Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey West Midlands.

“I really like the fact that a site where I worked right at the beginning of my career is now playing a major role in my working life again all these years later – even though I’m now working for a completely different company,” says John.

“It’s been great to read through the documents for the site and stumble across something I wrote myself back in the early ’80s.

“Obviously this development is particularly special for me, but even without the personal connection, it’s one I’m really excited about. In partnership with LCP, Himley View has been a long time in the planning and I’m confident it will have a positive and stimulating effect on the local community, providing much-needed homes in a pleasant and well-connected setting.”

Himley View will offer a range of high-quality homes for buyers in all circumstances, from two-bedroom apartments and starter homes through to three, four and five-bedroom terraced and detached houses. Prices are expected to range from about £100,000 to around £300,000.

The site, which adjoins extensive greenbelt countryside and is also close to LCP’s flagship Pensnett Estate, was formerly earmarked for commercial use. However, the site’s ideal setting and desirable location meant that it was widely recognised as being better suited for residential use, and outline planning permission for housing was granted two years ago.

Subject to final approval from the local planning authority, building work is expected to start at the site in April.

Alongside the new homes, Himley View will feature up to 5.4 acres of open space including a dedicated children’s play area. The development will also benefit from a convenient location close to the amenities of Kingswinford, Gornal Wood and Pensnett, with great transport links on the doorstep and the Merry Hill shopping centre just three miles away.
