Prince offered cleaner drive

28th October 2005 Print
Honda Civic Hybrid Honda (UK) has offered Prince Charles a Civic Hybrid to help his newly announced fight against global warming.

Prince Charles, who is frequently chauffeured in large gas guzzling executive saloons, would dramatically reduce his CO2 emissions if he were to opt for a new Civic Hybrid which is congestion charge exempt, produces just 109 g/km of CO2 and returns a combined 61.4mpg.

"The Honda Hybrid technology is easy to use and creates a win win for the driver and the environment. Prince Charles could save his fuel bills as well as the planet," commented Simon Thompson, Honda's Head of Marketing.

The New Civic Hybrid (IMA) goes on sale in January 2006. Bullet proof glass is not standard, but alloy wheels, air con, and automatic gearbox are.

Having spoken to a representative in the Prince of Wales’ Household Office, Honda (UK) has been thanked for its generous offer and asked to send a letter to Sir Michael Peat - Private Secretary to the Prince.
