Honda’s month of CO2-free motoring

26th May 2006 Print
Greener Driving Gift Every new Honda car sold in June will effectively emit no CO2, thanks to a ‘Greener Driving’ initiative.

To support World Environment Day (5 June) and demonstrate Honda’s continued commitment to green issues, every car will come with a free Greener Driving Gift, which will include a CarbonNeutral certificate confirming the offset of one month’s CO2 emissions.

The gift pack will also contain a box of organic Green and Black’s chocolates, a 'Greener Driver' car bumper sticker and a booklet on tips to help reduce environmental impact.

Retail customers will be presented with the gifts by their authorised Honda dealer when they collect their new car. After the first month’s CarbonNeutral commitment expires, the new Honda owner will have the opportunity to extend their offsetting of CO2 through the Carbon Neutral Company.

John Kingston, Environment Manager at Honda (UK), says: "We’re proud to support any event that promotes and educates on green matters, and that’s why Honda is backing World Environment Day. The beauty of this Greener Driving offer is that it’s not only a gift for the buyer of the Honda – it’s a gift for the environment too."

World Environment Day is an annual event organised by the United Nations to raise awareness of the environment. For more information, visit www.environment-agency.gov.uk/wed
