Honda becomes a friend of Fruitstock

26th July 2006 Print
Honda is teaming up with innocent drinks to support its free annual music festival ‘Fruitstock’, on 5 and 6 August in Regent’s Park, London.

Honda aims to educate and inform festival-goers about cleaner driving – in particular hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell technology.

An interactive ‘Honda Environment area’ will feature Space Hopper racing – to demonstrate hybrid technology in a simple way – as well as a design competition that offers children the chance to win a Civic Hybrid sporting their design for their family for a month. Visitors can also pick up a ‘Greener London’ guide to the capital’s more environmentally-friendly attractions.

To help spread the word about cleaner cars, a ‘Cow-look’ Civic Hybrid has been produced, which will be loaned to innocent’s company fleet for one year following its appearance at Fruitstock.

John Kingston, Environment Manager at Honda (UK) says: "We see Fruitstock as an ideal event at which we can interact with our customers face to face. The festival proves people can talk about green issues without being dull and worthy. We want to explain what people can do in a simple and positive manner – not make them feel guilty about what they’re not doing."

"Our involvement with innocent is the beginning of a relationship for two brands that care about the long term impact of what they do and are looking to make better products in a cleaner way."

Fruitstock is a free two day music festival organised by innocent drinks. It is a unique outdoor experience, with music ranging from jazz to salsa and hip hop, free yoga lessons, a lovely farmers’ market and a dedicated kids area. innocent expects more than 100,000 people to attend the event, which is now in its fourth year. Other ‘Friends of Fruitstock’ include Green & Black’s, Ocado and the Early Learning Centre.

Over the last four years, Fruitstock has raised over £50,000 for charity, with this year’s chosen charity being WellChild.
