Drawn to drive....9 year old’s transport vision turned into reality...

When Paige Lewis, 9, from North London, visited Honda’s Environment Stand at Fruitstock, Innocent Drink’s festival in Regent’s Park little did she realise that she was about to draw something that would become reality.

Honda was running a competition for children to create a one-off design for their new Civic Hybrid as part of their drive to educate people on the benefits of Hybrid technology. The chosen design would be loaned to the winner’s family for a month.

Thousands of children entered the competition but, in the end, there had to be one winner and in September Paige received the call.

The car, complete with Paige’s design duly arrived and proved a massive hit on the school run: “My favourite part of the design is the rainbow. Everyone at school calls it the rainbow car,” commented Paige.

The Honda Civic Hybrid produces just 109g/km, delivers a combined 61.5 mpg and is exempt from London's Congestion charge.
