Barratt set to launch first apartments at new Basildon development

7th April 2012 Print

Local house hunters in Basildon are set to be made very happy next weekend, with the release of the first apartments at Barratt Eastern Counties’ popular new development, Acacia Park, on Broadmayne.

Launching next Saturday 14th April, the two bedroom apartments are part of the first phase of homes in the 20-year redevelopment of Basildon town centre. The spacious homes at Acacia Park have already received a very high level of interest, with 13 off-plan sales having been made since its official opening in January and interest in apartments is expected to be just as high.

The apartments at Acacia Park will be finished to an exceptional standard, and feature contemporary interior design particularly well-suited to young couples and first-time buyers looking for high quality and affordable housing in the up-and-coming area. The development offers the Government’s NewBuy scheme, which allows creditworthy house hunters to make the most of 95% mortgages for buyers of new homes, and buy a property at Acacia Park with a deposit of just £8,000.

Managing Director for Barratt Eastern Counties David Eardley commented: “We are thrilled to be launching the very first apartments at Acacia Park, as part of the on-going regeneration plans for Basildon. These homes enjoy a great location and good specification, and provide local house hunters with a brilliant opportunity to live in what will become one of the South East’s most dynamic towns. The development has already generated a high level of interest with a wide range of buyers; we look forward to welcoming the new residents and watching this exciting new community grow.”

Acacia Park by Barratt Eastern Counties is the first phase of the Basildon town centre regeneration project by Barratt Homes/Wilson Bowden (BWB). The exciting project will see the creation of up to 2000 new homes in total; of which Acacia Park will deliver 144. There are also plans for a new cinema, college, improved shops alongside new public spaces and a new bus and train station.

The homes at Acacia Park offer a generous, flexible interior and a thoroughly modern specification including fully fitted kitchens, stylish bathrooms and energy-efficient appliances. The development offers a lively community with a strong sense of place. The new homes overlook a newly formed lake and parkland, which will include a new play area and improved pathways and public space.

Conveniently located on the edge of and overlooking Gloucester Park, Acacia Park is well connected to Basildon town centre and the surrounding area. Basildon railway station is just over one mile from the development and provides a regular service to London Fenchurch Street in just 30 minutes. Residents also enjoy excellent road access, with the M25 just nine miles away providing a swift route to Stansted Airport and the motorway network beyond.

The prices for the apartments launching this Saturday start at £163,995 for a two bedroom home. Acacia Park also boasts a diverse mix of three and four-bedroom houses which start at £234,995. For further information visit barratthomes.co.uk.
