Homes from Redrow’s sought-after New Heritage Collection will soon be available in Wakefield.

The award-winning housebuilder has planning approval to build 229 homes on land at Ruskin Avenue, the first of which will be released for sale on April 21.

And with 95% mortgages available on the homes through the Government-backed NewBuy initiative, demand is expected to be high.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “We’ve seen great success across the country with our New Heritage Collection and are delighted that we can now offer the homes in Wakefield, where we have our regional headquarters.

“We expect the homes to be popular and with a choice of three and four-bedroom properties they will meet the demands of a variety of buyers and budgets. Anyone considering moving home in the area should contact us without delay so that we can keep them informed when the first homes are released for sale at Scholars Gate.”

Traditional on the outside, bright and modern inside, the homes are sure to appeal to those who want the charm and character of an older property, but the style and convenience of a brand new home.

“People tend to think they want to live in an older property that’s full of character, but often don’t realise just how much time and money they will spend running and renovating it,” Patsy commented.

“The homes at Scholars Gate will offer the best of both worlds – architecture that gives a nod to the past but with interiors designed to meet the demands of modern family living and convivial open plan layouts that put the kitchen at the heart of the home.”

Kitchens in the homes at Scholars Gate will be well-equipped with integrated top brand name appliances including microwave, oven and fridge freezer, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers offering plenty of storage for pots and pans. Bathrooms and en-suites will boast quality fixtures and fittings and an exclusive tile range.

“We’re working towards opening show homes at Scholars Gate in the summer, but in the meantime potential purchasers can enjoy a taste of things to come thanks to our broadband television channel Redrow.TV,” Patsy said.

“It’s a great marketing tool with virtual show home tours so that home buyers can ‘explore’ our homes any time of day or night, from the comfort of their home, office, mobile phone or wherever they access the internet. The video-based website also includes weekly regional news, buying guides to the help available and footage of our customers talking about their new homes.”

The homes at Scholars Gate will enjoy easy access to Wakefield town centre with an array of shopping and leisure facilities. The area enjoys excellent motorway links across the north of England, making the new homes a great base for commuters, while nearby Outwood Station offers rapid trains to Leeds in just 15 minutes.

The marketing suite at Scholars Gate is open from April 21.
