Crest Nicholson gets residents in Shoreham on their bikes

Orchard Gate Travel plan

As part of Crest Nicholson’s mission to become a greener and more eco-friendly house builder, new residents at its Orchard Gate development in Shoreham-by-Sea are being offered the choice of a free bus pass for a month or a fold-up bike. One such resident who has benefitted from the Orchard Gate Travel Plan is Sue McKeown, 48, who recently moved to the development with her two sons.

Sue snapped up The Crawley, a luxury four bedroom townhouse at the development where she now lives with her sons Ashley, 20 and Luke, seven, after admiring the development’s green initiatives. The family chose to take advantage of the free bike through the scheme, which is a partnership with Brighton & Hove buses and bicycles4u.

Sue commented: “As soon I had a buyer on my previous property I went straight down to the sales office at Orchard Gate. I really love the development and how well everything has been thought out; from the lovely green enclosed play area planned for children to the sense of community that has been created here. The location is ideal for us with the local shops within walking distance and we can now take family bike rides to near by Buckingham Park and the South Downs thanks to Crest’s green scheme. ”

Sue’s property provides a real family environment with an open-plan kitchen/dining area, large living room and inviting hallway with cloakroom. On the first floor there are two large double bedrooms and a family bathroom and a further floor featuring the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a large fitted wardrobe. An additional bedroom is also situated on the second floor allowing Sue and her boys to have family and friends to stay.

Sue added: “The layout is perfect for us. My eldest son has taken residence on the first floor with a spare bedroom for when his mates visit, and then myself and Luke are close by on the second floor. The room sizes are very generous and Luke loves his new bedroom – it’s big enough for all of his toys and even doubles as an indoor football pitch (with a soft ball obviously!).”

Christine Tiernan, Sales & Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson South, commented: “We are committed to helping our residents to do their bit for the environment and I’m delighted that so many new residents have been taking advantage of the Orchard Gate Travel Plan. For those who choose the bicycle, it’s a great way to stay fit and explore the local area, whilst the bus pass is a great opportunity for residents to get from A to B without the cost of petrol to worry about.”

Situated on Upper Shoreham Road, the development comprises a collection of two, three and four bedroom houses, as well as one, two and three bedroom apartments. Just a short walk to the beach and only 20 minutes from Brighton, Orchard Gate provides the best of both worlds. The town centre offers a good range of shops, bars and restaurants, the local beach and Shoreham Mainline Station – with direct services to London Victoria in just over an hour. Alternatively, Brighton is just under 20 minutes away.

Prices for a two bedroom house start from £239,950, £274,950 for three bedrooms and £299,950 for a three/four bedroom property. For more information please visit the Sales and Marketing Suite at Orchard Gate, which is open daily (10am – 5pm). Alternatively, visit crestnicholson.com.
