All Wales Coast Path walking holidays

11th April 2012 Print

The World’s First National Coastal Path - the 870-mile All Wales Coast Path that will provide a continuous walking route around the whole of the country’s coastline, from the outskirts of Chester in the north to Chepstow in the south - is due to open on 05 May 2012.

For those wishing to walk part of this picturesque coastline, HF Holidays – the UK’s largest walking holiday organisation – is highlighting its choice of trail holidays along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, part of the All Wales Coast Path.

The company’s guided option covers 60 miles of the path – from St Dogmael’s to St David’s Head – taking in a landscape of rugged cliffs, golden beaches and fishing villages as well as a wealth of seabirds and marine life.  Highlights include Dinas Head, Strumble Head, the beauty spot of Cwm-yr-Eglwys and the Ice-Age settlement of Aber Mwar.

This seven-night holiday is available with two departure dates – 19 May and 08 September – and costs £695 per person, twin-share, inclusive of full board hotel and guesthouse accommodation, all transport and luggage transfers on walking days, group transfers to and from Carmarthen train station and the services of an experienced HF Holidays’ Trails leader.

Or for those who prefer to walk independently, HF Holidays has a six-night self-guided trail along almost 45 miles of the path from Dale to St David’s which includes superb cliff top walks, stunning beaches and historic places that featured in the life of St David.  Points of interest along the way include Marloes Sands, the red rock cove of St Bride’s Haven, Newgale Sands and Porth Clais – the harbour where St David was baptised.

Available through to the end of December, the cost is £469 per person, twin-share, inclusive of six nights’ accommodation with breakfast in guesthouses and small hotels, all transport on walking days, luggage transfers, plus maps and detailed walk notes.
