Honda launches dealer recruitment programme

Honda launches dealer recruitment programme Honda (UK) has launched a new recruitment programme to help its dealers target, identify and assess the best technicians, sales staff and managers.

The programme has a new website – hondapeople.co.uk – that will not only help Honda dealers find candidates with the right skills and enthusiasm for any role within their business, but will also reduce recruitment costs for those using the service.

It’s already proved popular with job hunters – the website alone attracted an impressive 3,500 unique visitors in its first two weeks. And that figure is expected to rise dramatically as more dealers sign up for the programme and the number of advertised vacancies increases.

The programme was developed by Honda’s dedicated people development centre, the Honda Institute. It allows potential candidates and dealers to follow a specific ‘journey’ towards recruitment. The applicants identified as having potential are added to a ‘talent pool’ from which dealers can choose individuals to assess.

“The success of any business depends on the quality of the people behind it,” says Geoff Matthews, Head of the Honda Institute. “It’s important we find the rightpeople for all roles at Honda – not just those with the correct skills, but those with the right enthusiasm, attitude and drive. Recruiting the best people to work in our dealerships is especially important as they are often a customer’s first contact with the Honda brand.”
