New show home inspired by Wotton’s natural beauty
The designers of a new show home in Wotton-under-Edge have taken their inspiration from the Cotswold’s natural beauty as well as the town’s individual boutique shops.
Elan homes will open the doors to its new three-bedroom showcase property at Millbrook next Thursday (May 3), which has been brought to life by interior design that reflects the local area.
Beverley Rickard, sales manager for Elan, said: “As the property is not actually lived in we still wanted to give it a homely feel so buyers could imagine themselves living here. Wotton is such a naturally scenic area, with a host of quirky boutiques, that we decided to capture both these elements in the decor and furnishings. We’ve adopted a very calming and light colour scheme with some delicate floral prints. A number of quality individual items, similar to those found in the local shops, can be found in each of the rooms.”
As the development has a wide-ranging appeal, Elan has ensured the show home has a similarly broad charm. The emphasis is on natural colours with cheerful accents of teal, yellow and gold.
The sumptuous lounge features pearlescent paper and silky blinds in a floral design. Soft greens and yellow are included in small amounts in the accessories and nature-inspired artwork and there is a teal occasional chair in the bay window.
With a chandelier, French-style bedsides and pearlescent blossom wallpaper, the master bedroom has a luxurious feel. The headboard is upholstered and buttoned in ivory. The crystal trim on the edge of the window blind is an example of the attention to detail Elan has paid to each room.
The third bedroom in particular is a great example of the two main threads of inspiration coming together. It is styled as a little girl’s room and has been given a woodland creatures theme with trailing butterflies on a soft silvery lace stripe on the walls. On closer inspection the wallpaper reveals insects such as ladybirds and centipedes marching up the wall. The styling of the room is fun and quirky with rabbit nightlights, artwork with deer and badgers, bird cushions and an owl wall plaque. There is also a vintage feel with polka dot blind, bedding and cushions.
Nestled close to the Cotswold Hills, Millbrook is a charming venture of just 10 homes in a choice of two and three-bedroom designs, all either link semi-detached or link detached, with their own garages and gardens.
The development is located close to the centre of Wotton-under-Edge, a bustling market town with all shops, pubs, restaurants and a host of leisure activities, including small cinema and swimming pool, which opens during the summer months. It lies close to the M5 and M4, providing easy commutes to Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Current availability includes two-bedroom homes from £189,995 and three-bedroom homes from £239,995.
