Honda Civic offers Gentex auto-dimming mirror

Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors, has announced that it has begun shipping auto-dimming mirrors for the new 2009 Honda Civic that will be sold in the United Kingdom, Germany and other European Union countries.

A Gentex interior base auto-dimming mirror will be available as an option on all 2009 Civic trim levels sold in European Union countries. The mirrors darken automatically in response to the headlamp glare of rearward-approaching vehicles.

"We continue to be pleased with our growing relationship with Honda," said Gentex senior vice-president Enoch Jen. "The Civic is one of the best-selling vehicles in the world. Making Gentex auto-dimming mirrors available in the European Union market on the Honda Civic could be the impetus for additional cooperative partnerships in other markets offering the Civic and also on other Honda models."

Earlier this year, Gentex was recognised by Honda with an “Excellence in Quality and Delivery” award after just one year of supplying product, following the company’s first business with Honda in North America. It was noted that product received from Gentex had zero defects and zero issues with delivery. The award was presented by Honda at its Annual Supplier Conference in March 2008.
