Llandudno voted one of the UK’s top ten resorts by TripAdvisor

3rd May 2012 Print

Fondly regarded as the “Queen of the Welsh resorts”, North Wales’ Llandudno has been voted one of the top 10 UK holiday resorts in TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Perfectly placed on the unspoilt North Wales coast, the town has a pristine Blue Flag beach and is the ideal destination for a nostalgic family break with Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides on the beach, sand castle building competitions and the longest pier in Wales. Llandudno was also the favourite holiday destination of Alice Liddell who inspired Lewis Carroll’s famous Alice books and first visited Llandudno when she was just eight years old. More recently, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been spotted there.

The 870-mile-long Wales Coast Path opens this weekend (5 May), making Wales the first country to have a continuous trail all the way around its coast. Nearby Bodnant Garden also boasts one of the world’s most impressive laburnum arches which is 55 metres long and flowers in late May.
