Honda reappoints AA for first class roadside assistance

Honda is committed to delivering a ‘first time fix’ for customers at the roadside in the event of a breakdown. This means getting customers mobile as soon as possible with the help of AA Roadside Services or – if that’s not possible – getting them recovered to the nearest Honda dealer.
"It’s crucial that we are able to provide the necessary support to our customers at the roadside, no matter how reliable our cars are," says Gary Castle, Product Technical Manager at Honda (UK). "The AA is the perfect partner to help achieve this, as it has an approach that’s equally focused on customer service."
In order to improve the level of service to both customers and dealers, Honda (UK) is now delivering:
Over 600 Honda-accredited AA patrols at strategic locations throughout the UK
Dedicated Honda workshops at the AA Training School in Nottingham
Dedicated technical training on the Honda model range
Additional customer-focused training for AA technicians
Regular liaison with Honda dealers via AA Area managers
Dedicated AA account manager and dedicated AA technical manager
Daily technical feedback into Honda manufacturing facilities and product technical support
Honda customers will also benefit from the latest technology, as this year, all AA patrols will be equipped with new hand-held Midtronics battery testing equipment, similar to that used by Honda dealers.
In addition, a customer satisfaction survey has been introduced, that not only measures the performance of AA patrols at the roadside, but looks at the entire process – from the first call into Hondacare Assistance, to how the customer is handled at the dealership if the car is recovered.
David Wallace, Director of Business Services at the AA said: “The AA is delighted to have retained the Honda Roadside Assistance Programme. We have worked in partnership with Honda for many years, focusing on quality customer service and developing ongoing initiatives with our roadside team that embrace the Honda philosophy.
“As the UK’s number one breakdown assistance organisation, with more dedicated roadside patrols than any other UK breakdown company, we continue to fix more breakdowns than any other provider throughout the year.
“We believe this re-appointment bears testament to our market-leading status and we are looking forward to building on this partnership over the years ahead.”
