Hanham Place proves popular choice for family living

As recent figures from Nationwide show, the Bristol property market has been fairing well in recent months with a growth of 4 per cent in the last quarter of 2011 - Crest Nicholson’s Hanham Place development shows this is certainly the case with homebuyers now snapping up more than 70 per cent of properties at the development.
One family that has bought at Hanham Place and has been benefitting from the development’s ideal location nestled in the South Gloucestershire countryside on the edge of Bristol, is Tanya and Phil Sherbourne, and their three young children.
Originally from Hanham, Tanya and Phil Sherbourne, had moved away from the area but were keen to return to Hanham where they had spent their childhood. With three children to keep them busy, the Sherbourne’s were also eager to buy a new build property that would require minimal time on home improvements and leave them more time to spend as a family.
Tanya Sherbourne explains: “If possible we had wanted to buy a new build but weren’t sure if we would be able to find one in the Hanham area, which was our ideal location. When we saw Crest Nicholson’s development at Hanham Place we were very impressed and knew that we wanted to secure a family home here.
“After looking around the show home and at plans of the development we decided on a large four bedroom house – the Canterbury which could provide us with a spacious family home.
“The house features a large living room and a separate kitchen dining room with French doors opening out onto the garden. The kitchen dining room is where we spend a lot of our time as a family and helps create a real central hub to the home. Upstairs there are four good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms which means all the children have a room each that they can call their own.
“We were keen to move back to Hanham to bring up our children, as we spent our own childhood in the area. Hanham is the perfect location for us being close to the shops and leisure facilities in Bristol with the benefit of having beautiful countryside on our doorstep.
“As a family we love cycling at weekends and having the Bristol to Bath cycle path practically outside our front door is great. The development also has a road safety scheme in place to help slow down traffic for pedestrians and cyclists which was really important to us with our young family. In addition there are some extremely good primary schools, as well as Hanham High School, located in the area which was another draw for us to buy in the area.
“We have been very impressed with the finish of the décor of the house and the service we have received from Crest. They have been extremely helpful with any queries we’ve had and they have helped us secure our dream home.”
Laura Osborne, Senior Sales Manager at Crest Nicholson South West, commented: “We’re delighted that Tanya and Phil are pleased with their new home. Hanham Place is proving really popular with homebuyers and we’ve already sold over 70 per cent of the homes on offer, so we’d urge anybody looking to move to the area to visit the development soon before our remaining properties are snapped-up.”
The development of 34 properties provides a traditional collection of three bedroom semi-detached and four bedroom detached homes in a well-regarded area of Bristol, which is ideal for families and those looking to move into a larger property.
Prices currently start from £210,000 for a three bedroom Huntingdon house type and £325,000 for a four bedroom Cornwood house.
