Children in Lincolnshire could be in with the chance of scooping a prize fit for a King or Queen with the launch of a Diamond Jubilee themed art competition from national housebuilder, Miller Homes.

To go alongside the bunting and flags at the Deansleigh development, Miller Homes is tasking children in Lincolnshire to draw or paint a portrait of The Queen to celebrate her 60th year on the throne.

Throughout May, entries can be dropped into Miller Homes’ marketing suites or posted to developments across the region, including Deansleigh, where they will be displayed in very special portrait galleries over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 2 – Tuesday 5 June). A family ticket to Britain’s ultimate castle, Warwick Castle, is up for grabs for each of the winners in three age group categories – seven and under, eight to nine, and 10 to 11.

Budding artists can enter individually or through their school, with the added chance of winning £50 of art supplies for their school. Competition packs have been sent to local schools and individuals can download the entry form at Miller Homes’ Facebook page, facebook.com/MillerHomesLtd. Alternatively, entries can simply be submitted on a single A4 piece of paper, with name, age and contact details provided.

Ann Crick, sales director at Miller Homes said, “We’re very excited to be launching our fun Diamond Jubilee art competition and can’t wait to see the entries. With street parties at the centre of any royal celebration, we couldn’t let the Diamond Jubilee pass without making a splash. Our sales advisors are already busy decorating our majestic Miller Homes marketing suites across the region with bunting and Union Jack flags, but the children’s portraits of The Queen will be the icing on the cake.

“As one of the judges, I will be looking for colourful entries that have that something different to make them stand out. With the Diamond Jubilee, amongst other landmark events, 2012 is a very special year and we hope the entries will reflect that. At Miller Homes we aim to make 2012 a memorable year, not least by helping Lincolnshire househunters find their dream home.”

Situated on the northern edge of Lincoln, Deansleigh offers a range of two, three and four bedroom homes. The Hawthorn style, three-bedroom townhouse is a popular choice for families. With prices starting from £134,950, this spacious home comes complete with French doors, en-suite shower room and parking space.

For more information on Deansleigh, visit the sales centre, open daily 10.00am to 5.00pm.
