Eager first time buyers in Epping Forest rushed to the recent opening of Abbey Meadows where Genesis is offering a collection of new two bedroom homes from just £54,125 based on a 25% share on a full market value of £216,500.

Incredibly, 50% of the apartments were reserved during the official opening day, a record for the London based housing provider who attribute the success to a winning combination of specification, price and location. According to figures by the BBC, the average house price in Epping Forest is £350,008 which is the highest out of all local authorities in Essex.

New homes at Abbey Meadows offer those usually priced out of Epping Forest a chance to secure a home for less. Buyers can purchase between 25% and 75% and increase their share at any time, all the way to 100% and outright ownership with priority being given to those who live/and or work within Epping Forest. Properties at Abbey Meadows are available to those who have a household income of less than £60,000 per annum, have £3,500 minimum in savings to cover moving and legal costs and who do not own or are able to own a home on the open market.

Comprising 38 detached, semi-detached and terraced houses, each one has been designed with a combination of render, brick, tile hung and fibreglass exterior finishes. Internally, the houses have been spaciously designed including a separate fully fitted kitchen, an open plan living and dining room and many having the benefit of floor to ceiling windows adding even more light to the already bright rooms. French doors open out onto the rear garden which includes patio, turfed lawn and even the essential shed.

High specifications run throughout each property and include modern sleek kitchens with contrasting cream cabinets, dark wood style work surfaces, washer dryer, fridge freezer, electric hob and extractor fan.

Bathrooms feature thermostatically controlled shower above the bath, cream wall tiling with a mosaic border and there is a guest cloakroom with spacious storage cupboard in the hallway. Bedrooms are generous in size and in some designs having the added bonus of fitted wardrobes.

On the edge of Epping Forest close to Sewardstone Village, the natural sloping location on a hillside has ensured that a variety of design layouts have been utilised at Abbey Meadows. There is also a brook that flows gently down one side of this unique scheme to culminate in an attractive waterside frontage at the main entrance to the development.

On site there is a community centre and a convenience shop where residents can enjoy meeting and socialising with their neighbours. Abbey Meadows is also well served by a range of local shops and facilities, whilst nearby Waltham Abbey offers an extensive range of shops, restaurants, bars and leisure facilities.

For commuters Abbey Meadows is located just a short drive from Junction 26 of the M25, whilst Junction 27 offers the M11 giving access to Bishop Stortford and Cambridge to the north and Greater London to the South. There is a regular bus service through the village to Harlow and Walthamstow Central, whilst Chingford railway station is a couple of miles away offering frequent services into London’s Liverpool Street station.
