New scheme to help buyers secure a new home in Telford

Shropshire property-seekers will benefit from the availability of an exceptional initiative to help them secure their place at Taylor Wimpey’s The Cloisters development of new build homes in Telford.
Local people in Telford who worry they will never be able to own their own home can now take advantage of an exclusive new scheme at The Cloisters, Taylor Wimpey sought-after development in the town.
The leading housebuilder has released an exclusive range of two and three-bedroom lakeside houses and apartments for sale in Telford at just 80% of the market value to qualifying local customers at the development, under a joint scheme with Telford and Wrekin Council.
This incredible initiative means that selected two-bedroom flats in Telford, for instance, can be secured for just £79,960 – that’s almost £20,000 off the full cost price of £99,950!
It’s an ideal way for home-hunters who may not otherwise be able to enjoy the benefits of living in a brand new property in Telford, to invest in a home and their long-term future.
But with a deadline of 29th June for applications, potential purchasers need to be quick to make sure they don’t miss out.
Carl Cooke, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Many people in the Telford area may feel that owning a home is nothing more than a pipe dream, but that will all change thanks to this affordable housing scheme.
“This unique partnership between Taylor Wimpey and Telford and Wrekin Council has been set up specifically to help people who have strong connections with the Telford area – it’s all about local homes for local people.
“But with a strict deadline for applications just a few weeks away, I would advise potential home-buyers to get in touch as soon as possible so they don’t miss out.”
Qualifying customers can choose from two schemes which will enable them to own their very own homes at The Cloisters.
A Low Cost Tenure scheme has been set up to provide two-bedroom apartments at The Cloisters at a 20% discounted price, with purchasers restricted to selling it at a discounted rate should they decide to move on.
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet strict criteria, which has been drawn up to ensure these brand new homes go only to those who have strong connections with the local community.
Applicants must either be a Telford and Wrekin Council social tenant, work for the Armed Forces, be a first-time buyer or need to set up home as a result of a relationship breakdown.
They will also need to have lived in the Telford and Wrekin Council area for six months of the past 12, or for three of the past five years, or want to move to be nearer to relatives in the region, or work in the locality.
Successful applicants must have a guaranteed income of no more than £40,000, or a joint income up to £60,000, and have the required deposit to secure a mortgage.
Selected apartments are also available through the leading housebuilder’s easystart shared equity scheme, which means qualifying first-time buyers can purchase a stylish new home for only 80% of its full purchase price, with just a 5% deposit.
The properties are completed to the same high-quality standard as all new designs at the development, and boast spacious open-plan kitchen/living areas, two good-sized bedrooms, a bathroom and allocated parking.
The Cloisters forms part of the wider new community of Redhill Park, close to the affluent neighbourhood of Priorslee, and benefiting from one of the most sought-after addresses in Telford.
As well as soaking up idyllic views of the lake, residents at the development can enjoy the great outdoors with a tranquil 40-acre ecology park right on their doorstep, home to lakes, ponds, footpaths and bridleways and bordered by Shropshire’s stunning open countryside.
Watersports, fishing, wildlife-watching and relaxing walks can all be enjoyed at Priorslee Lake, while this charming area benefits from two well-regarded primary schools, a range of local shops, a pharmacy and a medical centre.
