New lodges lead to Devon's secret "peach of a beach"

17th May 2012 Print

Lovers of natural beauty are being given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a luxury holiday lodge just a short stroll from one of Devon's most picturesque yet least crowded beaches.

Gorgeous St Mary's Bay near Brixham is often only glimpsed from boats at sea, or discovered by keen walkers tackling the rugged coastline path.

But now, a new collection of timber-built holiday homes on the cliffs above the bay provides not just spectacular views, but also privileged access to this hidden gem.

The sandy beach of St Mary's Bay is at the end of a short private path from the small development of eleven lodges, all with timber decking, which start at just £99,995.

Go-ahead for the top-spec holiday homes was given by local planners to Park Holidays UK after environmental studies confirmed there would be no impact on the area's abundant wildlife.

Lodge owners will be able to enjoy not just the superb flora and fauna of the location, but also breathtaking views along the coast and out to sea.

The lodge development is located in exclusive grounds set apart from the adjacent Riviera Bay holiday park, owned by Park Holidays UK.

An eleven-month opening season means that buyers will be able to take holidays throughout the four seasons in their architect-inspired lodges.

All-weather comfort is assured by the high-efficiency central heating and the superior levels of insulation with which all of the lodges come equipped as standard.

The three different models each have two good-size bedrooms and two bathrooms, generous living areas, fully-fitted modern kitchens, plenty of storage space, and luxury furnishings.

Although intended to appeal to quality-conscious buyers, the lodges cost just a fraction of the price of similar-size - and even much smaller - holiday cottages along the nearby coast.

Couples and families who enjoy scenic beauty and discovering Devon's natural heritage will feel especially privileged as lodge owners, says Park Holidays UK.

"We are immensely proud of this development which offers some of the most dramatic coastal views in the entire West Country," said Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish.

"It's also just a few minutes' walk from Berry Head National Nature Reserve with its stunning limestone cliffs and fantastic wildlife, and is on the Devon coastline footpath.

"Without doubt, St Mary's Bay is now the West Country's prime location for countryside connoisseurs," added Tony.

The facilities of Riviera Bay holiday park - which include a new pool complex and entertainment centre - will also be freely available to lodge owners, if they wish.

Meanwhile, the company has now opened its first lodge showhomes for inspection, and announced a Bucks Fizz official launch party on Friday 18 May 2012.

Members of the public are invited to come along to see the development for themselves between 3.00pm and 7.30pm.
