Hertfordshire property-owners meet housing minister

The Minister of State for Housing recently had the opportunity to meet the homeowners at Taylor Wimpey’s Mirage development of new build homes for sale in Welwyn Garden City.
The first residents at Mirage had a chance to break the ice with each other – and their local MP – during a special event at the Taylor Wimpey development of houses and apartments in Welwyn Garden City.
A selection of Italian snacks and drinks were enjoyed by party-goers in the communal garden on Friday 27th April, which gave the evening an air of sophistication and provided the perfect backdrop for socialising.
And Grant Shapps, MP for Welwyn Hatfield and Minister of State for Housing, attended the get-together and took the opportunity to meet many of the new homeowners living in this sought-after development of properties in Welwyn Garden City.
“I was delighted to visit the Mirage development and to have a drink with some of the residents who have just taken delivery of the keys to their new homes,” said Mr Shapps.
“It gave me the opportunity to find out what is important to homebuyers in my own constituency and to learn how the industry is meeting their needs for places to live. The Mirage development is a great example of the NewBuy Scheme in action. It has given some of the residents the chance to buy their first home and I believe they’ve made an excellent decision in choosing to buy it in Welwyn Garden City!”
Christine Shea, Regional Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey, added: “Often, the hardest thing about meeting new people is saying hello, so this party was a really good way of bringing homeowners into touch for the first time and helping create a sociable place where they are happy to live.”
Mirage is a high-quality development of one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as three and four-bedroom homes in Welwyn Garden City – with four-bedroom semi-detached properties on sale now from just £299,950.
Taylor Wimpey also offers a range of helpful homebuyer incentives for first-time buyers and those with a property to sell.
The NewBuy scheme, for example, lets credit-worthy purchasers secure selected plots with a 95% loan-to-value mortgage, while Part Exchange sees Taylor Wimpey offer homeowners a guaranteed price for their existing property, based on the average of independent valuations.
Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with full details available from the Sales Executive.

Parents will appreciate that there are many schools within close proximity of the new development, providing education for children of all ages.
Mirage also benefits from exceptional transport links, with Welwyn Garden City railway station just a stone’s throw away, and offering regular services to London King’s Cross in under 30 minutes, while Junction 4 of the A1(M) is within two miles of the new homes and the M25 is just 11 miles away.
