A brand new Government-backed 95% mortgage scheme has already transformed the lives of one fast-acting couple at a Taylor Wimpey East Midlands development of new build homes in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

After being stuck in a rental rut for two years, Wendy Cadman and Paul Bresland became the first homebuyers in the UK to take advantage of the NewBuy scheme’s easy-to-access 95% mortgages with Taylor Wimpey to purchase a brand new property in Grantham.

The couple wasted no time in securing a stunning three-bedroom property at the leading housebuilder’s popular Isaac’s Place development of houses and apartments in Grantham within days of NewBuy’s launch – and they are now settling into their new home.

“We were the very first people in the whole country to purchase a Taylor Wimpey home with a 95% mortgage under NewBuy,” says Wendy (41), a children’s home manager. “It was an offer too good to turn down and it has transformed our lives.

“Paul and I thought we would have to spend another few years in rented properties in Grantham to save up enough cash for the 10 to 15% deposit required by most mortgage lenders.

“But thanks to the inexpensive deposits available under NewBuy, we were able to secure our new home at Isaac’s Place straight away!”

NewBuy launched in March 2012 and offers aspiring homeowners a quick, simple and affordable route on – or up – the property ladder by providing them with access to 95% mortgages and 5% deposits on houses and apartments worth up to £500,000. The scheme is now available at Isaac’s Place and Taylor Wimpey development’s across the East Midlands.

“The service we received from Taylor Wimpey was exceptional,” says Wendy. “Right from the moment we first set foot on the development the Sales Team were incredibly helpful and their assistance, along with our mortgage broker’s help, made it possible for us to take advantage of NewBuy.

“We reserved our plot under NewBuy on 15th March and we legally completed the purchase on 23rd April.”
Since then, Wendy and Paul (43) have been making the most of their new home and are extremely happy to be on the property ladder.

“We love our new place,” Wendy adds. “It’s a three-bedroom end-terraced house with plenty of living space for the two of us. We really like how the lounge opens through French doors to the garden, creating a light and open space that’s lovely when the sun is shining.”

There’s a superb selection of two and three-bedroom properties currently available to purchase at Isaac’s Place, with prices starting at just £79,995. The impressive three-bedroom ‘Marsden’ terraced home, for example, priced £123,995, can be secured under NewBuy with a 95% mortgage and a 5% deposit of only £6,200.

Full details of the NewBuy scheme, including terms and conditions, are available from the Sales Executive.

Isaac’s Place boasts the tranquillity and breathing space of prime rural Lincolnshire – yet is located just a mile from the huge selection of local facilities in Grantham town centre, including a variety of high street and independent stores.

For leisure time, the town offers an independent cinema, leisure centre with swimming pool, arts centre, theatre and a library, in addition to a wide choice of restaurants, public houses and take away food outlets.

Grantham is also home to health services and schools catering for children of all ages, including Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School and The King’s Grammar School, notable for educating past pupils Margaret Thatcher and Sir Isaac Newton, respectively. Grantham Preparatory School and Walton Girls High School are both under a mile from Isaac’s Place.

Commuters will appreciate that the development is conveniently located for the region’s major transport routes, with the A1 just over a mile away, while the town’s rail station offers direct services to London in just 70 minutes.
