A £2.9 million uniquely-styled hotel, bar and restaurant is opening in the scenic village of Luss on the edge of Loch Lomond, at the end of July 2012.

Recreating the atmosphere of an authentic 19th century inn with modern comforts, the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel will celebrate its rich and varied history as a hostelry and hotel, having welcomed travellers for at least two centuries. William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy are reputed to have stayed during their tour of Scotland in 1803.

Each of the 14 en-suite bedrooms, individually created by renowned interior designer Serena Williams-Ellis, will be complete with LCD televisions, iPod docking stations and Wi-Fi connection, whilst sumptuous and eclectic furnishings, luxury feather duvets and pillows, and pure cotton sheets will add warmth, character and classic charm.

The traditionally-styled bar and restaurant, with open log fires, will be the heart of the hotel, providing guests with a wide selection of fresh, homemade dishes prepared with local produce at any time of the day. Guests can also relax and enjoy a refreshing drink in the secluded beer garden.

Alastair Borland has been appointed as the first General Manager of the hotel. He said: "The Loch Lomond Arms aims to quickly establish itself as one of Scotland's leading small hotels, as well as becoming a real focus of Luss village life. We will offer a true Scottish welcome to locals, overnight guests and day visitors alike."

Only 30 minutes drive from Glasgow, Loch Lomond Arms Hotel and Luss offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the ideal base to explore Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park with its rich wildlife, boating, golf and fishing, as well as renowned whisky distilleries and a local brewery - all within easy reach.
