Brother scanners help drive productivity through digitalised workflows

29th May 2012 Print

Brother is enabling organisations to streamline document management and sharing, with a range of single function scanners.

Based on Brother’s scanning expertise in multifunction machines, the range consists of high speed, compact desktop and mobile scanners, designed to turn hard-copy documents into searchable, shareable digital information.

The scanners are suitable for use across a range of sectors, requiring efficient, secure document management including healthcare, legal and logistics.

The ADS-2100 is ideal for fast scanning of high quality documents up to A3 and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. The scanner is designed to overcome the difficulties of digitalising a wide range of materials, as it is able to scan various different types of documents at once with multipage detection, as well as offering double sided scanning.

Its bundled software enables users to create searchable PDFs, making it easy to find archived files using key words. This helps businesses quickly organise paper documents into a digital database. Bizcard software, which is included with the scanners, enables users to easily digitalise business cards, adding them directly into contact databases and removing the need to manually update spreadsheets.

The scanner has a unique feature that enables users to scan directly to a USB host and users can also scan directly into Microsoft Office software, in order to edit documents. The ADS-2100’s TWAIN and ISIS scan drivers enable effortless integration into document management systems.

Brother’s new mobile scanners (the DS-600 and the DS-700D), are powered by USB for complete portability, enabling workers to digitalise documents on the move. The machines remove the chance of paper documents becoming misplaced or damaged, as mobile workers can digitalise them instantly with easy to use “one touch” scanning.

The market for single function scanners is expected to double in size over the next three years as businesses look to digitalise document workstreams and make paper archives more manageable.

Phil Jones, sales and marketing director at Brother UK, said, “An effective business needs to be able to quickly process, interpret and act on incoming data.

“Digitalising processes such as order management, or contact databases boosts productivity and gives employees access to data wherever they are.”
